Educating for Freedom in Schools is committed to providing high quality, culturally relevant literacy experiences to all youth in the greater Kalamazoo community. Children's Defense Fund (CDF) Freedom Schools summer and after school programs are a couple of ways we serve youth. All our programs are focused on literacy, leadership development, family engagement, social justice, and health and wellness. The CDF Freedom Schools program has been around since 1992 and has a presence in over 200 communities nationwide.
